Free CV checker
Check your CV against a job advert the way recruitment software does. You see what the employer asks for, what your CV already covers and what is missing, point by point.
Your file is only used to read your CV: we do not keep it.
How the check works
- Upload your CV as a PDF or Word file, or paste its text. We read it as it is: nothing is rewritten at this step.
- Paste the job advert: its link or its text.
- Read the result: every requirement in the advert, with what your CV says about it. For anything missing, a question. If you have done it, it goes into your CV in your words. If not, nothing is added.
What it checks
- The duties and skills the advert asks for, and the ones your CV already shows.
- The software and tools the advert names.
- Required qualifications, licences, languages and certificates.
- Requirements with several parts, one by one: an advert asking for “Xero and Sage” gets two answers, not one.
You get the result at a glance, as “7 of 10 points”, then in detail.
What an ATS is, and what it does with your CV
An ATS (applicant tracking system) stores the applications an employer receives, pulls the text out of each CV and lets recruiters search and filter candidates by keyword: a piece of software, a qualification, a duty.
That has two consequences. Your CV’s text has to be readable: a text PDF or a Word file, never a scanned image. And the advert’s terms should appear in it wherever they describe what you have actually done.
Every employer sets up its system differently, and no checker reproduces one exactly. This one shows you what matters whatever the system: what the advert asks for, and what your CV says.
What to do about missing points
If you have the experience, say so: the point is added to your CV in your words, in the right place. Often the skill was already there, described differently from the advert.
If you do not have it, leave it out. It will come up at interview, and many adverts list wishes rather than requirements: applying with seven points out of ten is still a strong application.
Next: a CV and covering letter tailored to the job
The check is the first step of CV Ajuste. From the result, your CV is tailored to the advert and your covering letter is written from your own facts, with nothing made up. Creating and previewing are free; a pass lets you download the files (see pricing).
Questions about the checker
Another question? Write to us at info@cvajuste.com.
Is the CV checker really free?
Yes. Uploading your CV, reading the advert and seeing the result are free and need no account. You only pay if you download the tailored documents.
Do you keep my CV?
The uploaded file is only used to read your CV and is not kept. Your CV’s text stays in your space so you can come back to it. Without an email attached, it is deleted after 30 days of inactivity, and you can delete everything at any time from My account.
Which CV formats can I use?
PDF and Word (DOCX, ODT), up to 6 MB, or pasted text. If your CV is a scanned image, paste its text instead: that is also what an ATS reads best.
Does it copy a particular employer’s ATS?
No. Every employer sets up its own system. The checker compares your CV with what the advert asks for, which matters whatever the system.
Can I check several adverts?
Yes, one at a time. Each advert keeps its result in My space, with the CV and covering letter that go with it.
